So I made it back to my side of town and decided to fill up at Walmart (HWY 249 & Spring Cypress for you locals). Gas was only $3.63/gallon!!! WHAT?!?!
In case you don't know, Walmart (Murphy) will also give you a 3 cent discount per gallon if you use a Walmart giftcard (or credit card). We were out of bananas, so I decided to run in and get bananas and purchase a gift card so I could fill up.
Well, I found a few more deals while I was inside:
Corn on the cob - 5 for $1
Cucumbers - $.33 each
Roma tomatoes - $.78/lb
2lbs Strawberries - $2.50
4lb bag or oranges - $2 (these are really tasty! super juicy & sweet!)
I also got bananas ($.48/lb), cantaloupe ($.98 each), watermelon ($3.98), romaine lettuce ($1.68 ugh), & celery ($1.18).
AND my gift card for gasoline (so I only paid $3.60/gallon)... it might be a good idea for me to go ahead and reload that card and have it in the car with me the next time I need gasoline (it would save me a few bucks not going inside!)
Those are some pretty good produce prices. I may have to stop in after work and take advantage. Thanks for the info!
